Do you hear those party poppers? It’s time for the third and final instalment of the content marketing alphabet.
So far we’ve taken readers through letters A to J and K to S to uncover the different types of marketing content to add to social media calendars.
We’ve had mascots, awards and overheard conversations to name a few. We still have more to come as we take things to a close with letters T to Z.
T – Testimonial
People buy from people and sharing the words of happy customers is a valuable tool. Take a look at any customer reviews you’ve had online from customers or reach out for some quotes, you’re sure to find some gold dust to help sell your product or service.
U – Unknowns
Every business has interesting facts unknown to the outside world. Spark intrigue with your audience and share some key milestones or details about your product or service that may have been kept under lock and key until now.
V – Video and Vlog
It’s been documented that 79% of social media users are more likely to buy a product or service through video than any other form of content. You don’t need a big camera, you can do it all from your phone and thanks to the help of some handy apps, videos are easy to create too.
But remember what story you’re telling, think about what you’re saying and how you’re communicating that to your viewer to make the most impact.
W – Who we are
Also known as meet the team. Introduce your team to your audience and build relationships.
Maybe it’s an insider look at a team member’s role or what they get up to outside the business – there’s always plenty to share.
X – Cross-posting content
Cheating a bit with this one, but it still works.
Resharing posts from other accounts can work wonders in showing off your expertise, your support to other business and your values.
Y – Yearly round-ups
Share highlights of the year, month or week to keep your audience up to date with what’s new in your business. A perfect way to celebrate and share your achievements.
Z – Twitter chats
I couldn’t find a suitable option for Z but let’s just pretend Twitter chats has a silent Z.
Create your own hashtag and set a recurring time every month to gather your audience to chat about a topic of choice. #ScotlandHour on Twitter does a great job of this.
So there you have it, 26 pieces of content to mix up your sharing on social media.
Of course you don’t have to use them all but even using two or three can give that social calendar a healthy shake-up and engage your audience.
